Lamb Of God in London..

Jesus- frickin’-Christ. Lamb Of God are amazing. I mean, I knew that anyway.. but last week’s performance at the Unholy Alliance blew my mind (and my ears off my head). I don’t know what magical ingredient they had in their bass stack/kick drum (cos I don’t really know about stuff like that), but every few (incredible) beats - the most amazing BOOOOOM!!!!! went across the venue - and made me burp. It was so loud, so deep, so amazing and so filthy - that a certain male on the Metal Hammer team said that they nearly shat themselves. You know it’s a good gig when that’s the reaction! Damn it, it was amazing. I sung along (badly) to every word.. did my best attempt at metal dancing while still not losing my bag and coat - and stayed grinning from ear to ear all the way through. I love that band. What a night!

Incubus at the Astoria

Hello everyone! How you doing. I haven't been on here for a long time.. sorry.. I have just been so busy at work! Metal Hammer is going OK, but we have to put 2 issues together before Christmas - which is pretty tight! The new issue of Hammer goes on sale next week, will make a post about all the details of that soon!

Anyways, I went to see Incubus at the Astoria in London last night. The lovely Mr Daniel Carter was there as well with some of his chums, as was my buddy Arya who drums in Skindred. He had come all the way up from Exeter with a friend to watch the show, so he was expecting something special.

Was it special? Hmm. Not really. Not in my eyes. The band are obviously great musicians, and very talented.. but they have been doing this for years, and you would expect nothing less. I was just disappointed that they didn't move about the stage very much.. and Brandon (singer) almost seemed shy!! The place was packed full of squealing girls (that's not to say that I don't think he's rather handsome).. but the place was filled with sqeaks anytime he even glanced up at the audience! Ha ha.
I left after about one hour.. once I had noticed that they weren't gonna play much of their older/jazzier stuff that I love so much. Anyways.. it was still fun :)
And from today begins the best run of gigs in a long time..
Friday: Bullet and As I Lay Dying in Cambridge
Saturday: Cancer Bats and Alexisonfire at Brixton
Sunday: Exit Ten and Sylosis and Outcryfire in High Wycombe
Monday: Slayer and Lamb Of God in Brixton
Wednesday: Unearth and Hatebreed!!

Comeeee onnn!!!!!!

See you there xx
