… A new band called Job For A Cowboy.

You can check them out at www.myspace.com/jobforacowboy
it's very loud, very heavy - kinda like The Acacia Strain or Rosesdead (both great bands too).
They are playing a load of UK dates in August - so make sure you go see them!

Lordi Interview In Finnish Newspaper!

After I travelled to the Eurovision Song Contest for Radio One and Metal Hammer, I was approached by a Finnish newspaper called Ilta-Sanomat. They had heard that I was the only 'metal' journalist that has been at the event, and they asked me to write a feature for them about Lordi's success! I had about 5 hours to do it, before they had to translate it into Finnish, and send it to the printers! Crazy. Anyways, it came out in their national paper the week after the event - complete with a mental little picture of me! Ha ha. Here is the spread (not that I can understand it now it's in Finnish!). x

DJ-ing in Camden this weekend…

I have been asked to go DJ at the Subverse All-Ages metal club on Sunday in Camden.
Subverse has been running for a few years, and it's a great club because
a) it's on in the afternoon
b) any kids of any age can come along
c) people get to dance in the dark with their mates - and still get home in time for dinner!
d) every month they have about four bands playing - all of which are upcoming new acts.

This month is being headlined by Enter Shikari (myspace.com/entershikari) - who are really odd, but kinda good. Check them out.

Here's the flyer.. hope to see some of you there.

This is where it all begins…

So, here i go trying to create and get going on my very first Blog. The purpose of this blogging site? To keep myself and others up to date on what I get up to, and what I want to do.. 'cos some of it is interesting, much of it is funny, and loads of it is odd.
I started working at Metal Hammer magazine back in January 2003 - by accident - and ever since then I have found myself in strange and rediculous situations around the planet.
So here's hoping that this blog can become a record of those things.. and more.
