Afternoon chappies, last night I pre-recorded a radio show for internet radio station Total Rock. It was a three-hour stint, done with my pal Lucy F, for the Metal Hammer and Classic Rock show. We do it every few weeks live, but I am going off surfing this weekend so had to lay it down early! Anyways, it went OK and will be aired this coming Saturday, 8th July, from 3pn til 6pm, UK time. While we were there, we did a little interview with Brit rock boys Blood Roses on the show. This is them.....
They have an EP out in September - and even though it isn't proper scary heavy metal like I usually obsess over - it's still pretty awesome. Have a listen for yourself at their Myspace page... just click on the banner below.

Last night I was lucky enough to go see Alice In Chains at the Astoria in London. I have loved this band for years, but for some silly reason, had never seen them play before. It was always going to be a difficult tour for the band, as it was their first with new singer William DuVall (formerly of band Comes With the Fall) - replacing the sad loss of Layne Staley. The band was great however, and William seems to have been accepted into the fold by the rest of the group and fans alike. It was a proper night of big singing anthems, and some of the largest cheers I have ever heard! I don't think that there is any footage as yet of Alice In Chains with William, so here's an old video of theirs from back in the day with Layne. Enjoy. xx

Morning rockers.. today I would like to big-up a UK band from around Reading called Sylosis.
They are mates with the brilliant Exit Ten (www.exit-ten.co.uk).. and are total shredders... in a young British kinda way..
Check out their music at www.myspace.com/sylosis
Bitchin' x :)
Good morning people.. I am stupidly excited about the new Lamb Of God album that comes out soon on Epic records. It's going to be called 'Sacrament', and the band have uploaded one new track for people to check out for free at a special site: www.sacrament2006.com

It is bloody amazing. Very heavy, very, very Pantera.. and the most incredible drumming ever (true LOG style!).
Will keep you all posted with what other new tracks sound like, as and when I get them.. woo hoo!

The Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards are going to be shown on MTV2 tomorrow night (Tuesday, July 4th) at 9pm. It is your chance to watch all the silly backstage gubbins that went on, and see live performances from Bullet For My Valentine, Lacuna Coil and Dragonforce. Hopefully, it will be ace - as the actual awards were! Here is a silly picture of me with Lordi (I wasn't actually kissing him of course... he's a monster!) :)
So.. just got back from my little DJ slot at the Underworld at today's Subverse club. There were about 500 or more people there, and Enter Shikari - the headliners - were amazing! Honestly - I wasn't sure how good it was going to be - as pulling off the smart combo of techo and tuff-stuff hardcore was always going to be hard. But they were excellent. It totally worked - even more so than on record.. and (you heard it here first.. ha ha) i think that they are going to be pretty big. (even if it's only for 2006/7).
Ha ha.. reach for the lasers! I took some rough video footage, that I will try and get up here tomorrow..
